EEG continues to win new business, with the award of three contracts, two for Four Seasons Hotel properties in Bahrain and Damascus, and one for Hammoud Hospital in Lebanon.
First, EEG has been contracted to carry out the energy audit for the new iconic Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay. This 54,000m2 luxury hotel resides on a man made island in the newly developed area of Bahrain Bay. It boasts 68 floors, with 273 rooms, alongside five swimming pools, a spa, and a range of outlets. Having been open for around a year and a half, the management want to undertake an energy audit in order to assess the current baseline and to investigate all potential efficiency measures which will help optimise the overall utilities budget.
EEG’s remit is to analyse all utilities including electricity, district cooling, LPG and water. The project is expected to be completed by the end of October 2016.
In another Four Seasons Property, EEG will be carrying out the lighting retrofit for Four Seasons Hotel Damascus. This follows EEG’s energy audit of the property in 2015, and covers over 20,000 points of lighting to be changed, which will lead to savings of over 1.8 GWh annually.
Finally, in Lebanon, following on from an energy audit of Hammoud Hospital earlier this year, EEG will be carrying out the lighting efficiency measures identified in the report. This work is in line with the Hospital’s sustainability objectives. The first phase is for comprehensive lighting efficiency projects which include a full LED lighting retrofit, the installation of more than 100 motion detectors across the property, and the installation of solar street lights. This first phase will save the property around 800,000 KWh annually.
